PARTNERSHIP SAS RUGBY / AIRUGBY

The Académie Internationale de Rugby continues its development towards excellence! It is proud to announce a partnership with the prestigious academy SAS Rugby located in Stellenboch, South Africa.

During the summer rugby training session held in Toulouse in July 2021, 5 South African players and 1 coach joined the Académie Internationale de Rugby trainees to take part in training sessions and the life of the Class of 2021. In addition, 5 French players selected by AIR were offered a 3-week training camp in South Africa in July 2021.

This partnership, which marks a major step in AIR’s international development, is in line with a desire for exchanges between AIR top coaches coaches and SAS Rugby (Stellenbosch Academy of Sport Rugby) coaches throughout the year, in order to collaborate and initiate synergies on innovative training, physical and mental preparation techniques geared towards high performance and top level.

Stellenbosch is considered the cradle of South African rugby, with a rich tradition spanning the last 150 years. Home to Stellenbosch University (Maties), it is the largest rugby club in the world, and has produced the most Springboks, including Jean de Villiers, Schalk Burger, Frans Malherbe, François Louw, Willie le Roux and Schalk Brits.

The agreement signed with SAS Rugby enables AIRUGBY to facilitate registration and act as an intermediary, free of charge, for French players wishing to take part in one of the training courses offered by the South African academy. If you are interested, contact us for more information.
